Some possibilities for Caribbean youngsters to get tall ship training

Talks with the Caribbean Sail Training Association have opened possibilities for the ship to take two local Caribbean students as trainees on board each time the ship sails out of the island on a voyage, as of the end of December. If final talks result in the tall ship returning, youngsters from St. Maarten/St. Martin, St. Barths, Saba, Statia, Anguilla and other islands will have a chance to sail around the Leeward and Virgin Islands with all cost covered by the Caribbean Sail Training Association.

The association will have more than 15 member vessels sailing around in the Caribbean next season, and some 50 tall ships and other vessels in Europe and the United States on which Caribbean youngsters can have trainee positions.
