Elyane Paul-Nicolaas has been appointed director of the Council Education and Labour Market Caribbean Netherlands ROACN per September 1. It involves a foundation that strives for good coordination between the offer from secondary vocational MBO schools and the demand on the job market. ROACN has advisors on all three overseas special public entities Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba who have as most important task to identify so-called “learning businesses” where pupils are ensured of good guidance as they gain practical experience. The cooperation with the private sector is to lead to a more varied MBO-package offering more possibilities to continue studying on the islands and find employment.
