Members of the Caribbean Netherlands Customs Department recently intercepted drug packages of 323.5 grams of cocaine on Saba and 500 grams of cannabis in Bonaire, with a combined total street value of approximately US $25,000. Members of the Customs’ Physical Supervision Team intercepted a package of cocaine on Saba on November 20. The cocaine was brought illegally from St. Maarten to Saba by a 24-year-old woman via a passenger ship. The cocaine was found during a clothing inspection conducted by a female Customs officer. The seized cocaine has a gross weight of 323.5 grams and represents a street value of about US $20,000. That same day, Customs officers in Bonaire intercepted a shipment of cannabis at Bonaire International Airport. The drugs were in the possession of a passenger on a DAE flight from Curaçao. He was subjected to Customs control, because the scanning machine indicated some “strange” luggage. This appeared to be a block of 500 grams of cannabis, with a street value of approximately US $4,000.

No Evette, apparently there is no other drugsproblem on Saba than that the island has to import cocaine. Fot cannabis the island is completely self-supporting, so no problem at all. The prosecutor announced that there would be interviews about evident cases last week. Not any interview has been arranged however. How addicted are the policemen on this island?
Finally the Customs & Excise are doing their job…
As apposed to asking how much the baby formula, pampers or sex toys (which would obviously affect the twice aforementioned charges) at ICS, They’re catching actual illegal substances. Must have had some additional training.
I’ve always liked: drink, cigarettes, junk food and bullsh#t… all terrible drugs… Worst of all for a reformed catholic… False Messiahs who wax lyrical and achieve nothing. Apart from Jim Jones,. at least he made Kool-Aid a household name.
Crack is the “poor people’s drug”, it ain’t going to a white Christmas for the over-paid this year… Well done customs!
