Klijnsma signed agreements with NuStar and the Executive Council of Statia for more employment

In a press release RCN announced that on July 17th State Secretary of Social Affairs and Employment (SZW), Jetta Klijnsma, signed agreements with NuStar Terminals and the Executive Council of St. Eustatius. The agreements will make more employment opportunities possible for Statians and will promote the business activity at NuStar. The agreements made with NuStar entail that for  coming year 10 to 15 Statians will be educated for positions in NuStar or with one of the subcontractors, for example in welding or pipefitting. At the same time NuStar will receive permits faster to get people from outside of St. Eustatius if there are no people available on St. Eustatius for  vacancies.

The agreements will last until 2015 and will be evaluated at the end of 2014. The expectations are that the trained Statians will be able to work at NuStar or with subcontractors, so that less employment permits will be needed.
