Customs catches drugs

Members of the Caribbean Netherlands Customs executed a number of drug catches recently as reported in the Daily Herald.  On Bonaire 1,766 grams of cocaine was intercepted and 28.5 grams of cannabis on Saba, with a combined street value of US $78,100. Members of the Physical Supervision Team encountered four plastic packages containing 343 grams of cocaine each at the Post Office in Kralendijk during the routine control of outgoing packages on July 17. The packages were confiscated and handed over to the police for further investigation. Members of the Physical Supervision Team intercepted 28.5 grams of cannabis in Saba on July 19. The cannabis was discovered on a 19-year-old man who was travelling from St. Maarten on a ferryboat. The cannabis was hidden in his backpack. The Physical Supervision Team again found 1,423 grams of cocaine during routine control of outgoing packages at the Post Office on July 31. The cocaine was hidden in sardine cans and hair products. Everything was confiscated and handed over to the police for further investigation.
