New members Chamber of Commerce

The Daily Herald writes that the Chamber of Commerce St. Eustatius and Saba thanked the many voters that turned up to cast their vote on Thursday, for a member of the Chamber of Commerce. The results are as follows: Koert Kerkhoff – 23 votes, Koos Sneek – 46 votes and Arlene Spanner-Schmidt – 26 votes. “We are very pleased with the outcome of the elections, Koos is very familiar with the rules and regulations of the Chamber and has a straight forward vision for the future of the Chamber,” says Chairperson Alida Heilbron, who is vacating her post per December 31, together with current Treasurer of the Board Roy Hooker. Koos Sneek, who together with Alida Heilbron has been instrumental in establishing the Chamber of Commerce on Statia and Saba, won with an overwhelming majority of votes which proves the confidence placed in him for the representation of the business community at large.
As of January 1, 2014 the board will consist of the following members: St. Eustatius – Clarsina Berkel- Rivers, Ebelene Schmidt and Koos Sneek; Saba: Kelly Johnson and Wolfgang Tooten.
