Flamingo Express ready for postal services

The Daily Herald writes that Flamingo Express Dutch Caribbean FXDC – the new concessionaire for postal services on Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba – is ready to start functioning per January 1, 2014. FXDC and current license holder NPNA are in the final phase of reaching a transfer agreement. This agreement is mandatory to guarantee a smooth transition to FXDC. The company is on target for continuation of all postal and non-postal services as of January 1, 2014. The transition will not affect customers, according to FXDC managing director Bart Bergman. “We have been negotiating with NPNA for weeks and it has not been easy to have everything in place, but we are confident we will be fully operational on all three islands by January 1,” said Bergman.
“The Post Offices will open their doors on January 2, 2014, at their regular opening hours and the services related to delivery and Punto Mio.com will also be continued normally.” Before the end of this year, the public is to receive further information about the three delivery days, the opening hours and new prices for stamps. An FXDC Website will be launched shortly. “There will be some startup challenges in the first weeks, but one must not forget our business principles and commitment to be the trendsetter in delivering excellent service, communication and happiness. Our customers are our number one. Our happiness depends on their happiness. We are happy when our customers are happy,” Bergman stated.
