Inflation on Saba and Bonaire fell , rose on St. Eustatius

Inflation on Saba in the fourth quarter of 2013 was 1.2 percent . This is 0.2 percentage points lower than the previous quarter. This was because the prices of electricity , food and recreation inflation slightly lowered .

The average inflation rate in 2013 was much lower than on the Caribbean Netherlands in 2012 . In 2011, inflation on the three islands of Bonaire , Sint Eustatius and Saba peak , reached only from 2012 inflation started to decline.

In 2013, the average inflation rate was 1.7 percent on Bonaire . That is 1.2 percentage point lower than in 2012 . Bonaire foods in 2013 were 1.1 percent lower than in 2012. This was the main cause of the decline .

The average inflation rate came to St. Eustatius in 2013 from 2.3 percent . This is considerably lower than the 5.3 percent in 2012 . This decrease was mainly due to water and energy in 2013 were lower than in 2012 . Transport also had a depressing effect .

The average inflation rate in 2013 was 1.2 percent Saba . In 2012 it was 3.7 percent . Foods were 1.3 percent higher than in 2012, but the increase in 2012 was 7.5 percent greater. The fact that water and energy were cheaper than in 2012 contributed to the decrease .

Inflation on Bonaire came in the fourth quarter of 2013 from 1.2 percent. This is a significant drop compared to the previous quarter. Also on Saba inflation fell . This also came in at 1.2 percent . On St. Eustatius , the inflation rate rose sharply to 2.1 percent .
Inflation Caribbean Netherlands.

Inflation on Bonaire in the fourth quarter of 2013 dropped sharply to 1.2 percent . In the third quarter, inflation was 1.8 percent . The decrease is mainly attributable to the price movements of water and electricity . In the fourth quarter of 2012 , prices for water and electricity has increased substantially. This has increased the inflation rate for one year , but this effect is set out in the fourth quarter of 2013 .
On St. Eustatius , inflation rose in the fourth quarter to 2.1 percent . This is 0.4 percentage point higher than in the third quarter. The increase was due to higher prices for airline tickets . Housing, water and energy had a downward effect on inflation .

The figures for the fourth quarter and the annual average of 2013 are preliminary and will be finalized with the publication of the first quarter of 2014.
