Appointment of Attorney General

Mr A.R.E. ( Guus ) Schram, will be the new Attorney General of Curaçao, Sint Maarten and Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba . The National Council of Ministers decided to appoint him, at the proposal of the Minister of Security and Justice. The appointment takes effect on February 1, 2014 .

Mr. Schram (1969 )is  since 2012 deputy chief prosecutor at the national office in Rotterdam. There he is charged with combating among other international trade in hard drugs, organized cannabis cultivation, money laundering, high tech crime, child pornography, war crimes and human trafficking. Schram began his career as a prosecutor in 2000 at the Zwacri team of the parquet in Rotterdam .
Schram studied law at the University of Amsterdam . He follows up Mr. D. A. Piar who will step down on 1 February as Attorney General.
