Deadline for Road Tax is March 1

Motorists that have not purchased their control sticker for the first half of 2014 are advised that the deadline for payment is the March 1. Persons that have not paid by that date risk being fined by the police. The control sticker can be purchased at the tax office between 8:00am and 12:00pm

The amount for the private cars, trucks, taxis, and rental car operators is $89 for the first half of the year or $157.00 for the whole year. Heavy equipment or trucks that use gasoline and weigh more than 7700 pounds pay $166.00 for the half year or $311.00 for the whole year, while those that run on diesel pay $194.00 for the half year or $367.00 for the whole year. Motorbikes pay $68.00 for the half year or $115.00 for the whole year. The price for a new license plate is $20.00.

The color of the sticker for the first half the year is dark green and for the second half of the year it is dark orange.
