Commission for Personal Data Protection BES islands appointed

The Commission’s monitoring of the Data Protection BES islands Bonaire , Sint Eustatius and Saba is April 1, 2014 started with a chairman and two members . Mr G.A.E. Thode is President of the Commission , which must ensure that the processing of personal data complies with the Data Protection Act BES monitoring . Ms. E.M.H. Pourier and Mr JJ van Eck are both members of the Commission. The Ministerial Council on the recommendation of State Teeven of Security and Justice decided to nominate them

Besides giving information and advice on the Data Protection Act BES has the power to examine the way in which the law is applied and respected . Ex officio or at the request of an interested party an investigation, the Commission The Commission on the BES islands also oversees the processing including police data under the Police Data Act.

Mr. Thode (1965 ) is a former lieutenant governor of Bonaire. At this time he is rector of the University of Aruba . Ms. Pourier (1957 ) has recently retired . Until August 1, 2013 she was director of the Guardianship Board Caribbean Netherlands . Mr. Van Eck ( 1952) is of State in the Administrative Law Division of the Council of State . Van Eck also has served since 2013 as a quartermaster responsible for the preparation and establishment of the Commission monitoring Data Protection BES .

Furthermore, the National Council of Ministers on a proposal by Minister Opstelten decided to nominate Mr. WL van Zanten  for appointment to the military chamber of the Community Court of Justice of Aruba , Curaçao , Sint Maarten and Bonaire , St. Eustatius and Saba . Mr. Van Zanten is  Marine captain .
