Overview of taxes published

The Daily Herald reports that PricewaterhouseCoopers PwC presented the first copy of its new publication Fiscale Wetgeving 2014 to Governor Eugene Holiday on Thursday. PwC Partner Tax of PwC Dutch Caribbean Steve Vanenburg and PwC Director St. Maarten Paul van Vliet presented the copy to Holiday.

Every year, PwC publishes an up-to-date overview with the applicable and relevant tax laws of Aruba, Curaçao, St. Maarten and the Caribbean Netherlands (Saba, Statia and Bonaire). Tax law is an increasingly important part of a country’s legislation. Having knowledge of tax law is, therefore, very important, especially since it changes regularly.
The publication Fiscale Wetgeving 2014 is a complete compilation of current legislation that is of relevance to the tax practice and education, Vanenburg said. The new bundle of PwC provides a complete overview of direct taxes and social security law, as applied by January 1, 2014, in Aruba, Curaçao, St. Maarten, Saba, Statia and Bonaire. The book also includes the growing number of treaties between the countries within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and at an international level.

This is the seventh edition of the law bundle that PwC has issued. Vanenburg indicated that one of the policy spearheads within PwC will share information with its customers and society. In addition to the paperback edition, an interactive digital version of Fiscale Wetgeving 2014 is also available. This document can be downloaded for free on PwC’s website www.pwc.com/dutch-caribbean . The text book is only available in Dutch, the official language for laws and regulations in our jurisdictions. The paperback edition of the law book can be obtained through the PwC offices in St. Maarten, Curaçao, Aruba and Bonaire. Additional information and orders can be obtained by calling tel. 542-2379
