During this one-day training fire fighters from both islands were trained in tactics and techniques with regard to combating aircraft fires. A second group of firemen from Statia will travel to Saba on Friday, March 28, for a similar training. Local Commander of the Caribbean Netherlands Fire Brigade on Saba, Julio Every said: “I consider this a great opportunity for all involved since we learn from our combined knowledge, experience and expertise. The training session is of great value to both teams on a whole especially to the newcomers within the Fire Brigade”. After the training finished, the group from Statia returned on the same vessel.
