Fundraising for schooltrip in July

Organised by Living Water Community, youth will be holding a fundraising bingo for a follow-up, week long summer trip in July to Living Water Community on Barbados and the sister community on Trinidad. About this writes The Daily Herald.  This first fundraiser takes place with a food sale and bingo at Eugenius Johnson Centre in Windwardside, Sunday, at 7:00pm. “We appreciate your past support and encouragement in our endeavours for the youth and look forward to your continued support,” Sister Jenni Jennings said in inviting residents to show their support.
The planned trip is organized with the encouragement of late Fr. Danilo Pastor, who pushed for this youth programme to continue as a mixture of spiritual, educational and cultural experiences. The group succeeded to secure a special group offer with Caribbean Airlines and some funding was made possible through the generosity of Living Water Community. Sister Jennings requests residents and businesses to contribute as sponsors or through prizes for the bingo fundraiser. She reminded parishioners that last year some of the young people spent two weeks on Trinidad and the experience had a great impact on their formation. Some of these participants are now involved both in the planning and the execution of the regular weekly youth meetings and remain active in the church and the community of Saba.
