The Daily Herald writes that the road leading to the Old Age Home in The Bottom is currently being resurfaced. The work on Oranjestraat is being executed by the Department of Public Works and is being financed through the Island Government’s budget. Commissioner of Public Works Bruce Zagers stated that plans to repair the road had been in the process for some time.
“There was a delay due to ongoing discussions about ideas to expand the health care facilities in that area. Recently the road had to be excavated to place a septic pit for the Old Age Home. Because of this construction and the necessary road closure, it was decided to no longer delay the project and resurface the road,” Commissioner Zagers said. Drivers are reminded that the road is closed for vehicular traffic until further notice. During construction parking at Norman C. Windfield parking lot will be limited to accommodate the flow of traffic, Saba Government Information Service stated Monday.
