The Executive Council of the Public Entity of Saba is set to leave for Caribbean Netherlands Week in The Hague, writes The Daily Herald. The event is a weeklong series of meetings where Saba, along with the other Public Entities Bonaire and St. Eustatius, will meet with ministers and top-level civil servants to discuss areas of concern and also ways to improve cooperation between the islands and the Dutch government. The point of discussion will be the evaluation scheduled for 2015 on the relationship between the Public Entities and the Netherlands. The Executive Council will outline the challenges Saba has faced since the transition and suggest that the Netherlands streamline its approach and limit bureaucracy in the Caribbean Netherlands. Since the transition, the Executive Council has travelled annually to The Hague for these contact meetings. The Dutch government provides funding for the trip.
