All Government employees had been given the option to participate and many of them took the opportunity to do so. Also part of the clean- up campaign were schools, foundations, businesses and individuals who decided lend their assistance through volunteering or donating material assistance.

The clean-up began at the Public Works building in The Bottom at 8:00 a.m. Teams were formed and then dispersed throughout the island to collect and remove the litter and unsightly trash that had accumulated below the walls and alongside the island’s roads.

After the cleanup there was a barbeque for all participants at the Princess Juliana Sports field in The Bottom. Another cleanup will be planned prior to Saba Day 2014.
