The Chairpersons of the First and Second Chamber, Ankie Broekers-Knol and Anouchka van Miltenburg began their working visit to the Caribbean part of the Kingdom on Sunday October 19th on Saba. They were warmly received by Island Governor, Jonathon Johnson and Kingdom Representative, Gilbert Isabella. Later in the evening there was a meeting with the members of the Island Council to here about matters that are taking place on Saba.
On Monday October 20th they paid a visit to the Fort Bay Harbour, Under the Hill Housing Project and Saba Organoponics Farm.
Before leaving the island they met with a group of entrepreneurs and social organizations at the Bizzy B in Winwardside. Broeker-Knol was mainly impressed by the initiative and enthusiasm with which residents work on the future of the island”. Van Miltenburg said she found Saba to be a beautiful island. “It is wonderful to see the dedication with which people take care of their homes and the environment”.
The delegation departed to Statia Monday afternoon.
