Suspicious boat seized

Customs seized a boat at Fort Bay harbour on Tuesday. This reports The Daily Herald.  Two men said they had sailed the boat from St. Maarten to Saba to get fuel for their boat. Customs Officers found this to be suspicious and carried out a routine check, during which a total amount of US $80.000 was found on board. The two men were taken into custody and transferred to the Police Station in The Bottom. All that was found regarding the identity of the two men was a driver’s license from Puerto Rico. The boat that was seized was of the go-fast type with three 250- horsepower V6 engines. The boat has been taken out of the water for further investigation. The Saba Police are still investigating the case and will provide an official statement shortly.
