Fireman Carlos Leverock passed away

The Daily Herrald reports that the Statia fire fighter Carlos Leverock passed away after a period of illness at the age of 41. The popular fireman had more than ten years experience in the St. Eustatius fire department.

Leverock was a native from Saba where his funeral will be on Saturday. A contingent from Leverock’s former departments is expected to travel to Saba to pay their last respects.

Carlos Leverock was very active on Statia. He was the shop steward for the personnel for four years. He was also a member of the St. Eustatius Voluntary Korps VKE also for more than 10 years. He was also a member of the Curacao/St Eustatius Association. Leverock was known for his love of music and was also known as DJ Cash Money. His colleagues at the fire department and VKE said to be very much saddened by his passing.

Carlos served on Statia, Saba and Bonaire. He was known as being a very outspoken man who enjoyed a heated discussion.
