Saba Fit and the Center for Youth & Family ‘Healthy Families Walk-a-thon’

  • Starting time 5:00pm with Face-painting at the Eugenius Johnson Center
  • Walking starts at 6:00pm from EJC to RCN parking lot
  • Healthy snacks and drinks at the end

3pm-10pm
Saba Day 2014 Dominoes Knockout Competition –Princess Juliana Sport Field

Friday, December 5th 2014

06.00 a.m.  
Ringing of Church Bells.

08.30 a.m.
Ecumenical Church Service at the Sacred Heart Church in The Bottom.

09.30 a.m.
Procession with the Saba Drum Band, The Saba Girls & Boys Sports  Society along with a detachment of the Lions Club to the Government Building in The Bottom.

09.40 a.m. 
Hoisting of the Saba Flag by Lt. Governor of Saba Mr. J.G.A. Johnson and the members of the Drum Band, and the Singing of the Saba Anthem and the Flag Song.

10.00 a.m.
Official Ceremony on the grounds of the Government Administration Building.  Saba Day messages by:

  • the Island Governor of Saba: Mr. J.G.A. Johnson,
  • the Commissioner of Culture, Mr. Bruce Zagers and
  • the Commissioner of General Affairs, Mr. Christopher Johnson

10.20 a.m. 
Procession with the Drum Band of the Saba Girls & Boys Sport Society along with a detachment of the Lions Club to the Governor’s Residence in The Bottom.

10.45 a.m.
Dancing of the Maypole, a performance by the Djembe Drums Group with a toast at the Governor’s Residence followed by a reception.

11.00 a.m.
Culture Fair at the Carmen Simmons Cultural Complex-The Bottom.

11.00 a.m.
Soft Ball Competition-Johan Cruijff Court

2:00 p.m.
Booths open at Fort Bay

8.00 p.m.
Performances by Local DJs and DJ Suppa Kid from SXM and  ENTYCE Band-Fort Bay.

 

Saturday, December 6th 2014

Midnight.
Start of the Annual Saba Day Wahoo Tournament-Fort Bay

7.30 a.m.
Island Cross Run organized by the  Saba Triathlon Foundation- Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport to The Fort Bay.

9.00 a.m.
Booths open at Fort Bay.

9.00 a.m.
Children’s Games organized by Saba United Sports Federation- Johan Cruijff Court

Noon
Entertainment featuring DJ’s and Bands-Fort Bay

1.00 p.m.
Soccer Tournament organized by Child Focus- The Johan Cruijff Court

3:00 p.m.
Weighing of Wahoo at the Capt. L. A. I. Chance Pier

3.00 p.m.
Target Shooting Competition-Fort Bay

9pm-2am.
Nuff Sayd Crew, Special performance by Daddy Slim & Crew and “Onyan”-Fort Bay

  1. The Saba Day schedule of events and ceremonies looks like a nice mix of culture and fun for the weekend. All the events hosted by various Saba groups give a good mix of activities for adults and children. I wish I could be there to attend this happy celebration. I hope to see pictures posted. Have FUN !!
