Consultations on new rules electricity and water supply

The Daily Herald writes that public consultations on rules based on the draft Electricity and Drinking Water Law BES have started on Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba on Tuesday. Topics of these consultations include drinking-water quality, the reimbursement for excess durable electricity that users feed into the grid and consumer protection, including the compensation for disruptions, as well as rules on disconnection policy.

These more practical draft rules are part of the general draft Law on Electricity and Drinking Water, which is now under discussion in the Dutch Parliament. The draft law stipulates that the Minister of Economic Affairs is to present more concrete draft rules as a next step in implementing the law. These draft rules are now available to the public in Dutch and English on Website www.internetconsultatie.nl/regelsElektriciteitEnDrinkwaterBes.
