ALL WELCOME TO CONSULT NATIONAL OMBUDSMAN IN MARCH 10-11

The National ombudsman has visited the islands of St. Eustatius and Saba twice in 2014. Each visit saw a rise in complaints submitted by the public and another trip has been scheduled from March 9 until March 12 this year.

The National ombudsman hears and investigates complaints by private citizens against officials, public bodies or government institutions. In 2014, the citizens of Saba and St. Eustatius submitted respectively 22 and 44 complaints about, amongst others, the Health Insurance Office, the police and the local government.

We consider and investigate complaints from people who believe they have been treated unfairly or unreasonably by a government department or agency, including the tax office, the police and ZVK. The ombudsman aims to resolve complaints impartially, informally and quickly. If you feel you have a valid complaint, feel free to drop in during our consultation hours or book an appointment. Our services are free of charge and we will explore all avenues for resolving the matter.
