Child Focus Foundation receives several donations

The Daily Herald reports that Child Focus Foundation (CFF) has received several donations from many local businesses on Saba last month.

CFF offers a full programme of physical, creative and educational activities for all school-going children ages 4-18. These activities are run by youth leaders, who offer their time and effort on a voluntary basis. The most recent donation concerned a cotton-candy machine from HES Home and Hardware, also known as Do it Best. Also included was a large supply of cones and floss sugar.

CFF carries out several family-day events throughout the year, and can now provide an additional treat for children and their families to look forward to.

Windward Roads donated US $1,000 towards the Lion King Theatre production. Satel NV donated six soccer balls and four pairs of shin guards. With the increase of children attending soccer practice, these supplies were very much appreciated. Satel also donated a flat-screen TV for the activity room. Saba University school of Medicine has assisted Child Focus in numerous ways, the most recent being a $1,000 donation which will be delivered this week. E&H Home Centre in The Bottom has donated a large supply of plastic containers for staff to organise and protect the longevity of materials and supplies.

Through the financial assistance of Body, Mind and Spirit Foundation and Juliana’s Hotel, CFF is now working towards bringing Dance4Life to Saba this summer. Dance4life is an international initiative that mobilizes and unites young people to push back the spread of HIV/AIDS.

  1. I’m so happy to hear of all the donations from the local businesses to the Child Focus Foundation. It is a great place for the kids to socialize together. Stacey Simmons does a terrific job organizing functions for the kids. I was fortunate to meet Stacey and many of the kids that go to the center. I did a card class with them and it was a lot of fun and the kids were very nice.
