Press release

MEMBERS OF THE EVALUATION COMMITTEE ARE COMING TO ST. EUSTATIUS AND SABA.

The constitutional relationship between St. Eustatius and Saba with the Netherlands has changed since 10-10-10. In 2006, it was agreed that three areas would be evaluated after a five-year period: the consequences for the population, the functioning of the legislation and the functioning of the new governmental structure. An independent evaluation committee was assigned to implement this investigation.

Mr. Soons and Mr. Weekers of the evaluation committee will visit St. Eustatius and Saba during the week of June 22nd to gain additional insight where needed based on the preliminary investigative results.

In December 2014, the evaluation committee initiated the implementation of the evaluation on the effects of the new constitutional structure in the Caribbean Netherlands.
