In the first half of August, Twisk will meet the governments of Curaçao and St. Maarten and the executive councils of Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba. Twisk has broad experience in public finance, according to CFT. He has worked at the Dutch Ministry of Finance and with the municipalities of Rotterdam and Amsterdam. At the municipality of Amsterdam he was responsible for the complete Finance portfolio. In Rotterdam at first he was responsible for the finance policy and planning and control of the municipality as the head of the department of Budgeting Affairs, in a later position he was head operations/ controller at the Development Company Rotterdam (land issues, real estate and economy).

Up until this summer, Twisk will be the secretary of the Rinnooy Kan Commission. The commission “Financial space for municipalities” was introduced by the Association of Dutch Municipalities and will present propositions for improvements of the finances of the municipalities, which will contribute to more flexibility (amongst others by increasing the local fiscal territory) and to economic growth. These are topics that are very current for the Caribbean part of the Kingdom as well.

Van Nieuwamerongen has held the position of the board secretary since July 2011. He was closely involved in the shaping of the financial supervision and has contributed as CFT secretary in the advising of the Governments of Curaçao and St. Maarten, and the executive councils of the Caribbean Netherlands.
