The avid diver has already been a volunteer for the marine park for a number of years. Delgado has a strong technical background and is already trained in the use of underwater hydraulic mooring installation tools. He recently became a scuba gear repair technician.

Aside from regular upkeep of the park’s infrastructure and equipment, the tasks of the rangers are the enforcement of relevant rules and regulations, visitor relations, control of invasive species, assisting affiliated researchers and conducting scientific monitoring of Saba’s natural marine resources.

Delgado is very excited about his new career. SCF said it was “very happy to have such an experienced, resourceful and talented member as part of its growing team. Welcome aboard Koki!”

This Saba National Marine Park Ranger position is sponsored by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in the Netherlands.
