St. Maarten's USC prepared student guides for living in The Netherlands

The Unified St. Maarten Connection, USC, has announced the launch of the 2015 USC Student Manual, a redesigned website and specific changes to their event structure. All this before the organisation goes on break for the remaining summer month, and reconvenes in August, when the new batch of students arrives in the Netherlands.

“Our 2015 manual contains new information about specific subjects,” USC Executive Secretary and Projects Committee leader, Diane Daniel, stated. “We paid particular attention to changes in DUO’s structure and taxes, as well as social issues such as winter depression.”

The USC Student Manual has been published annually since 2013. It covers most major factors affecting students moving to the Netherlands, both before, during and after their study. The organisation developed the document as a response to questions received via their Facebook group.

In addition to the manual, the board was eager to share that their official website, www.uscfoundation.com, has received a makeover. The site has been redesigned to allow for a sleeker and more streamlined distribution of information, and will provide upcoming event information for those who prefer not to use social media.

“We’ve definitely sought to improve our digital presence this year,” Chairwoman Melissa Gumbs says, “especially once we received feedback that many were not comfortable hopping on Facebook to see what we’re up to.”
