Chamber of Commerce holds election

The election for board members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in St. Eustatius will be taking place at the Chamber’s office in the Norako Building at L.E. Sadlerweg on December 8, 9:00am-12:00pm, writes The Daily Herald.

On Statia, there are two vacancies due to the so-called resignation schedule (“rooster van aftreden”). There are three candidates for the board: Carlyle A. Tearr, Ebelene M. Schmidt-Hinds and Arlene C. Spanner-Schmidt.

On Saba, there is one vacancy and only one candidate – Kelly A. Johnson, who after approval by the Election Committee will be appointed to the Board.

Eligible voters in the election should receive their voting card on or before Wednesday, December 2. Those who have not received their voting card may pick it up at the office of the Chamber of Commerce or receive one when they come in to vote. Voters are urged to bring proper identification to present to the Election Committee.
