On Monday State Secretary of Social Affairs and Labour, Jetta Klijnsma, met with Project Manager, Ginno Romero, to discuss the progress of the Job Programme during her visit to Saba.
Romero is working on Saba since 2013 and has had approximately 25 participants in various Job Programmes.
Klijnsma also spoke briefly with two participants who have successfully completed the Job Programme. Cleo Hassell is now employed at the Laura Linzey Day Care Center and Jevon Weeks is working at the Department of Agriculture and Pest Control.
The Job Programme is an initiative of the Public Entity of Saba which provides training and employment opportunities for young jobseekers. The programme is funded through several ministries including the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour.
This week the State Secretary and delegation are on a working visit to Saba, St. Eustatius and Bonaire.
