On World Health Day, Thursday, the Public Health Department Saba along with Child Focus Foundation; Body, Mind and Spirit; ASGS Foundation; Saba Health Care Foundation; and Saba Fit held free blood-sugar testing in The Bottom and Windwardside.
This was in line with this year’s World Health Day theme: Beat Diabetes. This aims to highlight the staggering rise in diabetes over the years. It is estimated that over eight per cent of the world’s
population live with this disease.
Commissioner of Health Bruce Zagers (right) and Island Secretary Tim Muller were among those taking the opportunity to have their bloodsugar level tested, writes The Daily Herald.
