Tiny Thumbelina is an adapted version of the literary fairy tale published by Hans Christian Andersen in 1835. The script has been modified by the director, Dahlia Hassell. Once upon a time, a widow longed to have a child. She came across a tinker selling all sorts of wares but none pleased her. Finally the tinker gave her a barley seed and said that if she planted it, her wish would come true. Sure enough, that seed grew into a beautiful tulip and one day the tulip popped open. There was Thumbelina!
This story is about a tiny girl, lost in a big world and her adventures with the forest creatures. Thumbelina is trying to find her place in life and determine the difference between good & bad company. In the end, Thumbelina sees who her true friends are: They are the ones who love and accept her just the way she is……as a kind-hearted and curious girl who was born only the size of your thumb.
