Graduation specialist duty officer of Caribbean Netherlands Fire Brigade

At the festive inauguration on July 8th of the new fire station on Bonaire diplomas were also awarded to the participants of the first training specialist officer on duty in the Caribbean Netherlands. Participants from Aruba, Curaçao, St. Maarten and the Caribbean Netherlands Fire Brigade (BKCN) participated in the training.

Diplomas were proudly awarded by Mr. Jan-Willem Schaper, director Politieel Beleid en Taakuitvoering, the General Commander BKCN, Jair Tromp and the Dean of the Department of Fire Academy, Jaap Molenaar to the following participants who have achieved the IFV
(Safety Institute) diploma:

Aruba: Ferdinand Ponson en Gino Tromp
St. Maarten: William York en Marvin Dollison
Curacao: James Wilson

BKCN: Andre Bennett (Statia), Julio Every (Saba), Kenneth de Palm, Julius Melaan, Gravey Anthonij, Glenn Rosaria (Bonaire).

The Caribbean Netherlands Fire Brigade invests a great deal in the development of its employees with the aim of a professional fire brigade with well-educated and trained firefighters. By earning the diploma the fire brigades in the region have gained several officers that are ready to act secure, decisively and with business sense at any incident.

The specialist officer on duty training lasted 9 weeks and took place on Bonaire, St. Maarten and Aruba. The theory lessons and practice exercises were provided by teachers and instructors from Curacao, Aruba, St. Maarten and the CN Fire Brigade under the supervision of the Fire Academy. Various companies and organizations have cooperated by allowing exercises and exams to take place on their site so that there could be worked in a realistic environment.
