Restaurant Week Saba, a recurring culinary event with the intention of spotlighting the local restaurants, and encouraging all inhabitants and tourists of Saba to dine out and enjoy the good food the island has to offer, will start this Sunday, and last until September 11.
For eight belt-busting days, food lovers can enjoy great lunching and dining experiences for fixed attractive prices at all participating restaurants. This special week gives diners the chance to try Saba’s restaurants inexpensively, or visit places they might not be able to afford otherwise.
Restaurants offer speciallypriced meals to showcase their signature dishes, from the simplest eateries to the most exquisite ones. Participating restaurants are: Brigadoon, Chez Bubba, Island Flavour, Long Haul Grill, Queen’s Gardens, Saba Snack, Scout’s Place, The Hideaway and Tropics Café.
The annual culinary celebration features special prix fixe menus starting at US $15 for a two-course lunch, including a drink, and US $30 for a three-course dinner, including a drink. This amount is excluding tax and gratuity. No passes, tickets or coupons are required, but making a reservation is highly recommended.
The Saba Government is one of the sponsors of Restaurant Week. Commissioner of Tourism Bruce Zagers: “This is a very creative way to stimulate business during the slow season, so I compliment such an initiative. Government has already pledged support with the making of a promo video and ads in The Daily Herald.”
According to Zagers, the hotels have also slashed their rates, while the ferry, Dawn II, is offering a special for the week to attract visitors. “As government we encourage the community to support this initiative. Saba has incredible dining opportunities for the small size of the island. Saba Restaurant Week allows for an affordable opportunity for everyone to en joy the fine cuisine available on Saba.”
