From November 27th, till December 1st, Jet Bussemaker, Minister of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) pays a working visit to Caribbean Netherlands. On November 28th she will open the third Education Conference of the Caribbean Netherlands on St. Eustatius.
Participants in the conference are the commissioners of education of the islands, school management and school board members of all schools for primary, secondary and vocational education in the Caribbean Netherlands, representatives of the “Sociale Kanstrajecten”, the institutions for education care, the ROA (Council for education and labour ) and the school attendance officers. The conference will be concluded with the adoption and signing of the second Caribbean Netherlands Education agenda 2017-2020.
On St. Eustatius the minister will hand over the restored slave archives to the island governor. These were completely restored with funding from the Dutch Ministry of OCW. On November 29th , she will execute the official opening of the renovated Bethel Methodist School. Furthermore the Minister will visit other schools, the Mega D Youth Foundation (after school program) and the Caribbean Netherlands Science Institute (CNSI) on St. Eustatius.
The Minister departs in the course of November 29th to Saba. There she visits the schools for primary and secondary education and the Foundation Body, Spirit and Mind.
On November 30th she arrives on Bonaire, where she will officially open the new Community School Papa Cornes on December 1st . After that the Minister will visit the mbo department of the Scholen Gemeenschap Bonaire. Furthermore on the program is a meeting with the Foundation EQ Bonaire (LGBT) and a visit to Mangazina di Rei. After that the Minister leaves for Aruba.
