Policyholders of the BES (Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba) Sickness Cost Insurance Office ZVK who are referred abroad for medical and/ or super specialist care as of now will be transported with special charter flights from Bonaire to Curaçao and Aruba.
The flights will be provided by EZ-Air airline for the duration of three months. The foregoing is part of steps taken by ZVK to ensure as far as possible that its policyholders arrive on time for their appointments for treatment and/or specialist consultation and to ensure as far as possible that they return on a safe and timely manner to their respective islands.
These charter flights are operated daily from Bonaire to Curaçao and Aruba. The so-called MRI flights to Aruba carried out on Saturdays will continue normally, while the emergency evacuations by the Air Ambulance, (stationed at Bonaire) and MediVac helicopters (stationed in St. Eustatius) remain available too.
The latter also applies to charter flights operated by Winair three times a week from St. Eustatius to and from St. Maarten. ZVK says it will closely monitor the situation regarding connections with other destinations and inform its policyholders in a timely fashion of any provisions that may need to be taken in this regard.
