Tax Office Director files first online income tax return 2016

As of Monday, February 20, taxpayers on Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba can submit their tax return for income tax of 2016 online.

The director of the Caribbean Netherlands Tax Office Nichalin Martina filed the first online tax form on Monday.

“I hope that many taxpayers will choose to fi le their tax returns online. If you choose this option, the return can be processed more quickly by the Tax Office. This is also more pleasant for our customers, who will be informed quicker as to whether they get a refund or have to pay,” Martina said.

Taxpayers can choose whether they fi le for income tax online or on paper. As of Monday the tax programme is available online. The paper tax forms will be delivered at home from Monday. The deadline for submission of statements, both online and on paper, is May 15.
