The 23rd trade mission “Connecting sustainable businesses from the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Dutch Caribbean region” will be visiting St. Maarten, Saba, and St. Eustatius, on May 30, May 31, and June 1, respectively.
The 23rd trade mission in the Dutch Caribbean is organized by Managing Director of InterExpo Peter Oerlemans.
“After the past two editions being held in the Netherlands and Suriname, the time has now come to visit the Dutch Caribbean islands as part of the trade mission,” he said.
It is the trade mission’s goal to improve business relations between parties from the Netherlands and the Dutch Caribbean islands or for companies from the Netherlands that consider becoming active in the Dutch Caribbean.
In addition, business associations will use the trade missions to draw attention to their specific islands. The fact that Dutch legislation is applicable in the Caribbean Netherlands creates opportunities, according to Oerlemans.
Important part of the trade mission is an entrepreneurial debate addressing the do’s and don’ts of doing business in different cultures.

InterExpo organizes matchmaking sessions parallel to the trade mission. Parties are matched with each other and can set steps and can make more concrete contacts. “There will be plenty of opportunity for an informal chat during the network drinks,” Oerlemans explained.
InterExpo organizes a business visit to the smaller islands Saba and Statia. “The first charter is already entirely full. The business trip will be combined with cultural excursions.
