The singer, songwriter, Kizzy, was the initiator of ‘Schiedam Steunt St. Maarten’, a charity event she set up to collect donations and goods for Saba, St. Eustatius and especially St. Martin which was hit the hardest by hurricane Irma.
The show hosted by Marco Spruit Bleeker aired LIVE on Popup TV and featured music artists, poets, speakers, historians, schools, politicians and there were even international LIVE interviews with Jonathan Johnson, the Island Governor of Saba, and Kingdom representative Gilbert Isabella.
Kizzy who kept the TV audience up to date about the donations ended with a tribute, singing the National Anthems of Saba, Statia, and St. Martin.
All donations went to the Dutch Red Cross through the notary who was present. The goods were sent to the affected Islands with the collaboration of the Dordrecht Police Force.

About Kizzy:
Kizzy is a singer, songwriter, actress, TV presenter inspirational speaker, and poet.
Her father is from Suriname and her mother is from St. Eustatius.
As a child she became succesful due to her poetry, music hits and TV shows in the Dutch Caribbean.
She represented Curacao at the 1996 CBU (Caribbean Broadcasting Union) Caribbean Songfestival in Barbados and became second runner-up.
After highschool to the United States graduated from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston.
In the united States She performed for president Bill Clinton and David Bowie and she presented TV shows.
After living in the United States for eleven years, she now resides back in The Netherlands.
