Fundraising creates a new horizon for Maritsa

Maritsa Riley is one of the unfortunate residents of Saba, who lost her roof and most of her belongings during Hurricane Irma. Maritsa lived in her house in St. Johns with her one year old son and eleven year old daughter and another cousin she was taking care of.

Sea Saba has “adopted” Maritsa and her family after so many of our customers asked us who they could support. They started an action on GoFundMe. All funds will go directly to Maritsa to rebuild her roof and purchase new furniture in order to give her family a secure place to call home again.

Maritsa will appreciate every $ being donated and would like to thank everyone from the bottom of her heart for their generosity.

The Island Government of Saba is still waiting final confirmation as to what level they can assist those persons who lost their roofs. The government is hopeful they will contribute most roofing supplies and labor but even if that comes through, Maritsa will still need interior doors, furniture, appliances and new shutters.

On Wednesday, Maritsa received all funds collected on her behalf. Thanks to the many customers of Sea Saba and the Saba community, Maritsa can now look forward to making her house a home again!
