Economic Relief Fund for Tourism sector

Since September, the Public Entity has called attention from the national government for the economic impact of the hurricanes and asked for different measures to alleviate the impact.  As a result, the Ministry of Economic Affairs has set up an economic relief fund for the tourism sector. The fund is meant for businesses registered with the chamber of commerce which have loss of income due to the impact of the hurricanes on tourism.

The following businesses are named in the regulation of the Ministry: hotels, restaurants/bars, businesses who rent out apartments to tourists, other forms of tourist accommodations, tour guides, travel agents, taxis, car rental and dive shops/schools. More information can be found via the following website: http://www.rvo.nl/onderwerpen/internationaal-ondernemen/tegemoetkoming-saba-en-sint-eustatius

The Public Entity is working on a separate arrangement for fishermen and gift shops. We will communicate soon about this.
