Every year the various safety partners come together in Saba to perform a large-scale disaster management exercise.
In 2015 and 2016, the practice focused on a hurricane scenario. The exercises helped the emergency service in the preparation for and in the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and Maria in September 2017.
This year, the scenario will be an outbreak of an infectious disease. Organisers are looking for volunteers and role players for this exercise who would like to play the role of infected persons, concerned parents and citizens on the following dates and times: Tuesday, May 8, between 4:00pm and 6:00pm; Wednesday, May 9, between 10:00am and 12:00pm and between 1:00pm and 4:00pm.
One can volunteer for multiple times. Those interested in volunteering may send an email with their name, age and contact details to disasterexercise@sabagov. nl.
