TROPICAL CYCLONE BULLETIN NO. 11

Key Messages / Watches and warnings:
—– Tropical Storm wind conditions no longer pose a threat to Saba and St. Eustatius. Therefore, the Tropical Storm Watch for Saba and St. Eustatius has been discontinued.
—– A Tropical Cyclone Advisory concerning rough seas due to Tropical Storm Isaac remains in effect for both Saba and St. Eustatius
—– Isaac is expected to pass 280-310 km (180-190 miles) south of Saba and St. Eustatius this evening.
—– 10% risk of 1.0-2.0 inch rainfall accumulation on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
—– Highest waves, 8-11 ft this afternoon and evening.
Effect on local conditions
Winds:
This afternoon and evening strong breeze to near gale, 6-7 Bft, gusts up to 45 mph (around 70 km/h). Wind direction is east to northeast. Early Friday winds will become east to southeast and speed will gradually decrease to moderate or fresh, 4-5 Bft.
Seas:
Wave heights of 8-11 ft this afternoon and evening, mainly from easterly directions, with 3-4 ft swell heights. Friday wave heights will gradually decrease to 3-6 ft.
Rainfall:
0.5-1.0 inch, 10% risk of 1.0-2.0 inch rainfall accumulation on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
