Upcoming weekend about 150 students from St. Eustatius and Sint Maarten will travel to Saba for an island-wide Sports event. This event is organized by the Sports Federation Saba and the Saba Comprehensive School and supported by many volunteers, the Public Entity Saba, the Saba Triathlon Foundation, the Saba Conservation Foundation, and several companies who made a donation to make this event possible.
This 4-day event will start with the opening ceremony held at the Johan Cruyff Court at 5.30pm after which the opening male soccer game will kick off this sports event at 6pm (kitchen open from 5pm). On Friday and Saturday, the games will continue at the Johan Cruyff Court, the harbor, and the Peter L. Granger Sports Auditorium with more male soccer, female soccer, open water swimming, track-and-field, basketball, volleyball, and the Sea to SCS run. Sunday the final soccer games will be played after which the Award Ceremony will take place.
With this event, the organizers would like to promote inter-island sports competitively, foster team building, and stimulate social exchange. As this is a sportive event, items on sale will be as healthy as possible.
On Friday a fun-family-park will be set up at the Saba Comprehensive School’s courtyard for the smaller kids.
