Saba’s Second Day Parade rescheduled due to rainfall

Saba’s Carnival celebrations came to an early close on Sunday afternoon, as the Second Day Parade was cancelled due to deteriorating weather conditions.
The continuous rainfall prevented revellers from taking to the street for a second day in a row. On Saturday, by contrast, they had come out in force to participate in the First Day Parade, which drew a large crowd to Saba’s narrow streets.

Rain or shine, the party still continued Sunday in Carnival Village in The Bottom with Tonik Band performing until midnight.

The Saba Summer Festival Foundation Committee announced that the Second Day Parade was postponed until today, Monday, at 4:00pm, weather permitting. The Momo will be burned today as well, and Tonik Band will be playing in the village for a second show in a row.

Saba’s 2019 Carnival celebrations kicked off on Sunday, July 21, with the Children’s Parade Day featuring Funtopia. Carnival Village opened one day later, on Monday, July 22, after the Opening Jump-Up which featured Turbulanzz Band.
