Ombudsman researchers in Saba, Statia next week

Researchers of the National Om­budsman for the Caribbean Netherlands will be available in Saba, St. Eustatius and Bonaire to assist people with any problems they may have with the government.

There will be consultation hours, the researchers will visit people’s homes to discuss the problems they have and, wher­ever possible, will address the government directly to solve these problems.

The National Ombudsman is there for whenever some­thing goes wrong between residents and the government. One can file complaints, for example, against the Govern­ment Department Caribbean Netherlands RCN, the Carib­bean Netherlands Police Force KPCN, the tax authorities or the public entities.

Complaints may be filed through the ombudsman’s website nationaleombudsman.nl/cn, by phone, but also through a personal visit.

Three times a year, the ombudsman’s researchers hold walk-in consultation hours in Bonaire, Saba and Statia. Dates and locations of the consultation hours will be announced with ads and infomercials on the radio, and on Facebook.

The ombudsman’s representatives will be in Statia on Mon­day, August 26. The consultation hour will be held at the Community Care Centre from 11:00am to 1:00pm.

The consultation hour in Saba will be taking place at Sunny Valley Youth Centre in The Bottom on Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 to 10:30am.

Soliciting help from the ombudsman is free of charge.
