On Saturday, November 23, Children’s Week ended with the “Color of Rights” walkathon. A good number of children and their parents, youngsters and supporters participated in the walkathon aimed at promoting children’s rights on Saba.
The group walked from the Windwardside to The Bottom. The event ended at the Johan Cruyff Court, where the participants enjoyed healthy snacks. The young participants with the most creative and colorful outfit received a prize. The walkathon was organized by the Public Entity Saba, in particular by the Community Development and Public Health Department. The “Color of Rights” walkathon was part of a series of activities for Children’s Rights Week.
Coordinator Cadella Marten of the Community Development Department expressed thanks to everyone who assisted to make this a successful event. “Thanks to the Public Health Department for helping to organize this event, to Smart Security for their services, Fit with Lee for bringing the energy, Bizzy B and Satel for donating prizes, the volunteers, Child Focus for the banner that was made by several local children, the Red Cross for being present, DJ Slim and DJ Noah, the Government Enforcer for ensuring that things ran smoothly, Commissioner Rolando Wilson for being there and special thank you to the young Leo members for all their help.”
