The Kingdom Council of Ministers on Friday appointed Herbert F. Domacassé as a member of the Committee for Financial Supervision (CFT) on behalf of the public entities Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba as per July 1. He hereby succeeds Hyden Gittens, who has recently tendered his resignation to Minister of Home Affairs and Kingdom Relations Ronald Plasterk.
Domacassé has fulfilled a number of functions within the banking industry in Bonaire, Curaçao and Aruba. He has been Minister of Transportation for the Netherlands Antilles and he was Lt. Governor for Bonaire. Currently he is member of the Supervisory Board of the Caribbean Netherlands Pension Fund.
Gittens was granted an honourable discharge by Royal Decree. Just before the termination of his three-year appointment term, Gittens tendered his resignation in connection with his acceptance of a contract for the public entity Statia. This way there will be no conflict with his supervisory function with the CFT, and his advisory work performed via his consultancy company.
Speaking for all its members, CFT Chairman Age Bakker thanked Gittens for the enjoyable cooperation. He said he was pleased that Gittens will uninterruptedly continue using his knowledge and expertise to the benefit of the Caribbean Netherlands. New CFT chairman Raymond Gradus looks forward to working with Domacassé, said Bakker.
