Requests for subsidy scheme “Opportunities for all Children” is starting soon

All children must be able to participate. Also children who grow up in a family with a low income. With the subsidy scheme “Opportunities for all Children”, the Cabinet makes resources available to help children. The subsidy scheme is intended for supplies that children from 0 to 18 years are missing because of lack of money. The resources have to be offered to the children in kind.

Organizations that have good plans to help children, can grant applications. With the money they will receive, they can for instance ensure healthy food at school, swimming lessons for children whose parents won’t be able to pay for, or music lessons or a musical instrument. This applies to not-for-profit organizations with a legal personality, such as schools, foundations, churches and associations. Last year there were 19 projects approved on Bonaire. Saba has been able to execute 10 projects and Statia has accomplished 8 projects.

This year organizations can submit plans from May 1^st, to May 15^th. The plans are reviewed on a first come, first served basis. If a plan is approved, the organization may receive funding till the grant ceiling is reached. In this way all stuff can reach the children fast. In this way all children can participate.
