Official firework show on Thursday, December 30th at Cove Bay

The annual government firework show will take place on Thursday, December 30th at 7:30 p.m. at The Cove Bay. The public is asked to park on the left side of the road, with the vehicle facing up. In the event, emergency vehicles may have to pass or an evacuation is needed, this will facilitate an orderly and safe way to do so.

  1. Parking upwards makes it awkward to go down and turn around as they always close the corner?? Surely this means that cars that have turned around and then want to come up hill to park are going to meet cars that are on their way down to turnaround – road not wide enough to do this – I see chaos. If instead all cars park downwards then in an emergency cars can run down to the parking lots at the airport to clear road.

It was a boring event with about the same fireworks as always. Hardly any people came ofer to see it. The budget of the government is negative. Nevertheless it went on. The reason of organising the event at Cove Bay is to compensate the fact that private fireworks are prohibited. Nevertheless for many, many days private fireworks were fired on Saba with -as far as I know – no intervention from the police.
